Past reports falsely claimed the Hollywood icon was selling the home, but real estate agent Yasemin Baysal assured the publication that ‘this time it’s true,’ People reported.<\/p>\n
An Italian source also told the outlet that news of the sale is legitimate.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The price of the lakeside property is estimated to be as high as $100 million.<\/p>\n

The person close to the situation noted, ‘It must be said that over and above being a very good actor and investor, he\u2019s also an extremely shrewd investor, given that he bought the villa for 10 million euros.’<\/p>\n
Clooney is said to have purchased the home \u2014 named Villa Oleandra \u2014 from the Heinz family in 2002, via The Washington Post.<\/p>\n
It was also reported that the filmmaker’s presence on Lake Como set off a real estate boom, prompting prices of properties in the area to double.<\/p>\n
The Wall Street Journal\u00a0reported that Clooney went on to acquire a nearby home, making it ‘one of the largest private homes in the area.’<\/p>\n
The home, which boasts 25 rooms, was estimated at over $100 million in 2022, WSJ added.<\/p>\n
Lake Como has sentimental value to the Hollywood heartthrob as he met his now-wife Amal Clooney there in 2013 when she came over for a dinner party with mutual friends.<\/p>\n
In a September 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor recalled, ‘I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart.’<\/p>\n
And last month the couple was back in Italy as they traveled to Venice for the famous film festival.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2004, the cast of Ocean\u2019s Twelve was treated to a visit at the villa, People noted.<\/p>\n
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski tied the knot there in 2010, with Krasinski dishing to Elle\u00a0six years later how it came to be.<\/p>\n
The Boston-born actor revealed that George offered the home to the couple multiple times.<\/p>\n
‘Only on the fourth ask did I say yes. Because the first three times I thought, there’s no way he is serious,’ he explained.\u00a0<\/p>\n
2018 saw Jennifer Aniston briefly make the space her home while she worked on the comedy film Murder Mystery.\u00a0<\/p>\n
And Clooney was there to support the area two years ago when it was battered by heavy rain and landslides during the summer season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After assessing the damage, George said in a video shared online, ‘It’s much worse than I thought. I have spoken to the mayor \u2014 there will be a lot of work, it will take millions of dollars, but this city is strong. It will react and return better than before. This is a very resilient city.’<\/p>\n
