<\/p>\nParis Hilton cradled her nine-month-old son Phoenix when she surfaced in New York this week with her husband Carter Reum.<\/p>\n
The couple joyously announced this January that they had welcomed their little bundle of joy into the world via surrogate.<\/p>\n
When she was spotted with her baby this week, Paris cut a casual figure in black sweats that accentuated her petite frame.<\/p>\n
Sweeping her signature blonde locks into a bun and concealing them under a baseball cap, she jazzed up the look with a large pair of butterfly shades.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile her dashing husband, who is a venture capitalist, threw a dark green bomber jacket over a true blue t-shirt and rounded off the look with black jeans.<\/p>\n

The family comes after Paris candidly revealed that ‘a lot of balance’ has gone into her ability to juggle her career and her baby.<\/p>\n
‘I always make Phoenix my first priority, and I’ve learned how to say no,’ she told\u00a0People,’ calling her son ‘my everything’ and noting that ‘I always put him first.’<\/p>\n
She explained: ‘I’m constantly saying no to things, because I just want to spend as much time with him as possible, and I just don’t want to miss any of these special moments in his life and all these milestones.’<\/p>\n
Paris initially was assiduously private about her baby, waiting until a month after the birth announcement to even disclose his name.<\/p>\n
She and Carter hid the baby’s birth from even their immediate families until right before she broke the news on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n
‘My entire life has been so public,’ she told Harper’s Bazaar. ‘I\u2019ve never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves.’<\/p>\n
While the surrogate was in labor, Paris was so determined to protect her privacy that she even went to the trouble of disguising herself with a brunette wig and checking into the hospital under an alias.<\/p>\n
Her decision was especially notable considering how close she is to her family, particularly her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild and her mother Kathy Hilton.<\/p>\n

However tension flared up between mother and daughter in November when Kathy let slip to E! News that IVF had been a ‘struggle’ for Paris.<\/p>\n
‘I don’t know where she got that,’ Paris shot back in a TMZ interview the following day. ‘It\u2019s never been a struggle at all.’<\/p>\n
When Paris announced the arrival of her firstborn child, all she said was ‘You are already loved beyond words,’ on a photo of the baby\u2019s hand holding Paris\u2019s finger.<\/p>\n
On an episode of her podcast This Is Paris, she spilled that Phoenix was ‘like over a week old’ before she told Kathy and Nicky about his birth.<\/p>\n
