I had it all cleared out and they feel so much better.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He went on to say his bad knees were the result &#8220;of a lot of kneeling over the years from gardening&#8221; but claimed he was back to being a spring chicken at the time.<\/p>\n<p> <strong> Don&#8217;t Miss&#8230; Unlimited access to all our content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/logo\/logo-premium-subscription.png\"><\/p>\n<p>Alan faced more health issues back in 2021 when he was hospitalised with severe chest pains he believed was a heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>Recalling the moment to The Sunday Post, he said: \u201cAt first, I thought it was indigestion as I know that can give you chest pains \u2014 but it didn\u2019t wear off.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know what was wrong and although I didn\u2019t think it was a heart attack, because the pain wasn\u2019t going down my arm, it was frightening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hoped I wasn\u2019t going to die, and I was hanging on in there, but the pain was so acute at one point I thought it might be a blessed relief.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alan went on to say it was \u201cevery bit as agonising as a heart attack&#8221; but doctors later determined it was gallstones.<\/p>\n<p>A history of heart disease runs in Alan\u2019s family after his father suddenly died aged just 62.<\/p>\n<p>The gardener previously revealed he had been taking medication to help ward off the disease, telling The Mirror: \u201cI\u2019m on statins.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I wish I wasn\u2019t. I don\u2019t like the thought of taking tablets every day, but I\u2019m following my doctor\u2019s advice. He thinks it\u2019s a good idea.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The thing is, the men in my family have had a tendency to die from heart disease at a relatively young age.
