Dolly Parton revealed she has been offered to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show ‘many times’ but always turned it down.<\/p>\n
The 77-year-old country star explained the reason why she chose not to perform at football’s biggest night was because she ‘didn’t think I was big enough to do that big of a production.’<\/p>\n
In an interview with\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter\u00a0published on Thursday, she said: ‘I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I was big enough to do it \u2014 to do that big of a production.’<\/p>\n
The 10-time Grammy winner \u2014 who dazzled in a Halloween-themed dress at a ribbon cutting for her fashion exhibition over the weekend \u2014 continued:\u00a0‘When you think about those shows, those are big, big productions. I’ve never done anything with that big of a production.<\/p>\n
‘I don’t know if I could have,’ she added. ‘I think, at the time, that’s what I was thinking.’<\/p>\n

In lieu of a halftime show, she said she would consider doing ‘a production show’ after releasing her first rock album Rockstar \u2014 which will drop later this month on November 17.<\/p>\n
‘It would make more sense,’ she explained in regards to the halftime show \u2014 which will see Usher headlining the forthcoming Super Bowl show\u00a0on February 11, 2024.<\/p>\n
Since she will be releasing her rock ‘n’ roll album, she said she is open to the idea of doing a bigger performance.<\/p>\n
‘That might change,’ she said. ‘I might be able to do a production show.’<\/p>\n
While speaking to the outlet, she also revealed that she has turned down Elvis Presley before too when he wanted to record her hit song, I Will Always Love You.<\/p>\n
She initially declined the invitation to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too, because she didn’t feel fit as a country music performer.<\/p>\n
‘They’re going to put me in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and somebody like Meat Loaf or some of these other great artists never even made it? I didn’t want to take away from somebody that has spent their life in that world like I had spent mine in country [music],’ she recalled thinking at the time.<\/p>\n
She said she finally accepted when she learned that there are a variety of other artists in the Rock Hall because of their music’s influence around the world.<\/p>\n

Her highly-anticipated rolodex, Rockstar \u2014 which comprises of 30 rock classics and originals and many music icons as featured artists \u2014 Is set to be released on November 17.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Some of her collaborations include: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, Sting, Joan Jett, Kid Rock, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Steven Tyler, Melissa Etheridge and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On many of her rock songs, she also worked with Chris Stapleton, Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, Pink, and Brandi Carlile.\u00a0<\/p>\n
