The Color Purple<\/i> soundtrack is set to feature an all-star lineup of artists, including Alicia Keys<\/b>, Usher<\/b> and more.<\/p>\n
The Color Purple (Music From and Inspired By)<\/i> is due to be released on December 15.<\/p>\n
The Color Purple<\/i> is a coming-of-age period musical drama film directed by Blitz Bazawule<\/b> from a screenplay by Marcus Gardley<\/b>, based on the stage musical of the same name, which in turn is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker<\/b>. It is the second film adaptation of the novel, following the 1985 film directed by Steven Spielberg<\/b>. <\/p>\n
The album will feature songs from the musical sung by Taraji P. Henson<\/b>, Danielle Brooks<\/b>, Colman Domingo<\/b>, Corey Hawkins<\/b>, Halle Bailey<\/b>, H.E.R.<\/b>, Phylicia Pearl Mpasi<\/b>, and Fantasia Barrino<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The album will also feature original songs inspired by the film from Keys, Mary J. Blige<\/b>, Jennifer Hudson<\/b>, Megan Thee Stallion<\/b>, Coco Jones<\/b>, Keyshia Cole<\/b>, Jorja Smith<\/b>, Black Thought<\/b>, Mary Mary<\/b>, and more.<\/p>\n
A collaboration from Usher and H.E.R. will also be included in the soundtrack as well as a special remix by Missy Elliott<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The film stars Fantasia Barrino<\/b> in her film debut as Celie, along with Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks<\/b>, Colman Domingo<\/b>, Corey Hawkins<\/b>, H.E.R.<\/b>, Halle Bailey<\/b>, and Phylicia Pearl Mpasi<\/b>. Barrino and Brooks reprise their roles from productions of the stage musical.<\/p>\n
The Color Purple<\/i> is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 25, 2023 by Warner Bros. Pictures.<\/p>\n
