EastEnders star Davood Ghadami’s character died two years ago, but in an exclusive new interview with Express.co.uk, he’s confirmed that viewers should “never say never” to the idea of a sensational return. “The way Kush ended was pretty grisly, right? But you know what? You never saw the body, so you never know,” he teased.<\/p>\n

“EastEnders have got a history of pulling people back from the dead… you never know what’s going to happen.” Viewers’ hearts were in their mouths as the tense scenes unfolded that led to Kush’s death, with jealous Gray Atkins (played by Toby Alexander-Smith) pushing him onto the platform just as a London Underground train came rattling along.<\/p>\n

It was presumed that the 41-year-old’s character was swiftly crushed to death and killed after the train hit him – but Davood has warned: “Never say never” to a comeback. That said, he also admitted that he’s now keen to “move forward and do other things”.<\/p>\n

The star, who is known for his rippling muscles and passion for working out, has turned entrepreneur and started running a gym, while he’s also one of the most eagerly anticipated characters in Aladdin this year at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls theatre. He confirmed that he has “really got the bug” for pantomime now, despite not having enjoyed the tradition when he was a child.<\/p>\n

Davood admitted he’s relishing the opportunity to play a malevolent character as a way of challenging himself, as he’s always been the good guy in the past. “People want you to be the Prince Charming character or the hero guy and I just feel like everyone wants to be a bad guy every now and again. This is my fix that I get at the end of the year,” he confided.<\/p>\n

“I’ve never played the bad guy in my life, [so now] to be able to go and be this evil character… you can really push the boundaries.<\/p>\n

“It’s nothing like you could ever do on TV. That was a real release for me, something that I had never experienced before.”<\/p>\n

Davood also revealed that he would love to play Hook in Peter Pan – a role that this year will be going to rival soap star Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow in Coronation Street) at St Albans’ Arena.<\/p>\n

Asked what else the future holds for him, the EastEnders favourite stated that the industry is “aggressive” and that he doesn’t “have a huge amount of control over” roles.<\/p>\n
