He posed afterward with Smollett and his award, but he opted to skip the red carpet earlier in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>Foxx admitted that he could not &#8216;walk&#8217; six months earlier, via Deadline, though he refrained from revealing too many details about the medical crisis that put him in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You know, it\u2019s crazy, I couldn\u2019t do that six months ago,&#8217; he said after strutting across the stage to the microphone. &#8216;I couldn\u2019t actually walk.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I want to thanks everybody. I\u2019ve been through something, I\u2019ve been through some things,&#8217; he said to thunderous applause.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I cherish every single minute now \u2014 it\u2019s different,&#8217; he continued. &#8216;I wouldn\u2019t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it\u2019s tough when it\u2019s almost over \u2026 when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel \u2014 I didn\u2019t see the light.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Foxx was given his award at the start of the show, but unlike the rest of the recipients, his honor was not announced ahead of time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his 12-minute speech, he also made light of some of the baseless conspiracy theories that spread while he was hospitalized and then out of the public eye for several months.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/05\/07\/78585441-12826499-image-a-13_1701762116922.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Foxx was visibly emotional during his 12-minute speech, and he admitted he could not &#8216;walk&#8217; six months earlier<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/05\/07\/78584789-12826499-image-a-14_1701762713403.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I cherish every single minute now \u2014 it\u2019s different,&#8217; he continued. &#8216;I wouldn\u2019t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it\u2019s tough when it\u2019s almost over \u2026 when you see the tunnel. I know a lot of people who was saying I was cloned out there,&#8217; he said, via Entertainment Tonight.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;I have a new respect for life.
