<\/p>\nA woman in her 50s has been killed in an ‘industrial accident’ in a Co-op funeral parlour, it emerged today.<\/p>\n
Norfolk Police said the woman died after the incident in the East of England Co-op Funeral Services building in\u00a0Swaffham’s Market Place.<\/p>\n
Emergency services, including the East Anglian air ambulance, were called shortly after midday on Friday.<\/p>\n
Police officers are working with the Health and Safety Executive to establish the circumstances which led to the woman’s death, the force added. Her next of kin has been informed.<\/p>\n

Norfolk Police said the woman died after the incident in the East of England Co-op Funeral Services building in Swaffham’s Market Place<\/p>\n
Police and forensic teams were seen inside the premises. A notice outside reads ‘This branch is temporarily closed.’<\/p>\n
A Norfolk Police spokesperson said: ‘Police can confirm a woman has died following an industrial incident in Swaffham.<\/p>\n
‘Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to a business in Market Place shortly after midday today (Friday 1 December 2023) following reports there had been an incident involving a woman in her 50s.<\/p>\n
‘Sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working with the local authority to establish the circumstances that lead to the woman’s death.<\/p>\n
‘The woman’s next of kin has been informed.’<\/p>\n
