Peter Crouch reveals why he didn’t get fuming wife Abbey Clancy a Christmas present – despite being worth £25m

Peter Crouch has admitted that he once didn’t get his fuming wife Abbey Clancy any Christmas gifts.

The former footballer, 42, – who is estimated to be worth £25million – appeared on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain with model Abbey, 37, where they spoke about the incident.

Abbey explained: ‘One year I said “oh nothing” when he asked me what I wanted but like but I didn’t mean it.

‘It’s just a typical girl thing to say. Then I woke up that year on the naughty list, I got nothing!’

Peter then retorted: ‘It is very hard to interpret the coded message!’

Peter Crouch has admitted that he once didn’t get his wife Abbey Clancy any Christmas gifts – leaving her fuming

The former footballer, 42 – who is estimated to be worth £25million – appeared on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain with model Abbey, 37, where they spoke about the festive incident

The pair are known for their playful bickering and often have hilarious conversations about married life on their Therapy Crouch podcast.

It comes after Abbey admitted ‘it’s hard to keep the spark alive after 20 years’ with husband Peter.

She revealed the former Liverpool FC star needs to get his head in the game when it comes to cooking and cleaning and said she’d ‘love it if he was more domesticated’.

Abbey revealed she has now ‘given up’ trying to coach him and she is typically left on her own to pick up after their children.

The podcast host pair share four children, Sophia, 12, Liberty, eight, Johnny, five and Jack, four, together.

In an interview with new! magazine, Abbey said: ‘Pete and I have been together for nearly 20 years, and it’s hard to keep the spark alive.

‘Like any couple, we have our niggles. You can slip into your roles of cooking and cleaning and you need to break that cycle.

‘I’d love it if Peter was more domesticated but I’ve given up and he leaves me to do the cooking and cleaning.’

Abbey explained: ‘One year I said ‘oh nothing’ when he asked me what I wanted but like but I didn’t mean it’

Peter then retorted: ‘It is very hard to interpret the coded message!’ as they appeared on the daytime show

But all is not lost, as the football star has been pulling his weight elsewhere in the relationship.

Abbey revealed that Peter tried his best to keep the spark alive between the two of them as he planned a surprise trip to Thailand to ‘reconnect’.

While the thought was there, Peter didn’t plan ahead and when the pair arrived at their luxury destination, it soon became obvious that is was monsoon season.

Being stuck indoors for 48 hours, The Therapy Crouch podcast hosts had a couple’s massage, napped and enjoyed some brunch.

The topic of having more children was discussed on the rainy getaway, but Abbey said that expanding their family is not on the cards right now.

She joked: ‘We both love being parents and it’s the most fulfilling role, but having more right now is not on the agenda. Besides, Peter has said he’ll leave me if we have any more.’

Abbey recently revealed she loves to have a ‘dirty night in a hotel’ with husband Peter and let slip exactly what gets her going.

The couple said on their Therapy Crouch podcast last week that they recently stayed at Oxfordshire’s Estelle Manor – a private members’ club.

Abbey said it was shopping and eating that got her in the mood for their night away, with designer outlet shopping centre Bicester Village being so close by.

The model and mother-of-four said: ‘It is 10 minutes from Bicester Village so it was literally my perfect little dirty weekend in a hotel. Dirty night in a hotel.’

After doing a little sultry click, she added: ‘It was incredible.’
