Newcastle star Anthony Gordon is wanted by rival nation after being snubbed by England boss Gareth Southgate | The Sun

ANTHONY GORDON is wanted by Scotland to switch national allegiances after being snubbed by Gareth Southgate.

The Newcastle winger has made 16 England Under-21 appearances and helped them win the European championships this year.

And despite four goals in the Premier League this season, it was not enough to earn Gordon a call up in Southgate's latest senior squad.

So according to the Daily Record, Scotland are hoping to tempt Gordon into switching international allegiances.

The 22-year-old forward was born on Merseyside but qualifies to play for Scotland through his paternal grandparents.

Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento are others said to have caught Scots bosses attention.
