Adam Thomas 'BANNED' from Strictly rehearsals
Strictly Come Dancing’s Adam Thomas is ‘BANNED’ from rehearsals – with his spot on show teetering on the edge
Strictly Come Dancing producers fear a winter flu outbreak could potentially affect this years cast after Adam Thomas became unwell and had to stop rehearsing.
The celebrities and their professional dance partners have been advised to prioritise their health, even if it requires them to skip valuable rehearsal time.
A source has revealed bosses are worried the illness could rapidly spread through the stars which would be a ‘nightmare’ for the show.
Adam was forced to miss training in order not to spread his bug to others or his partner Luba Mushtuk who he dances close to.
Speaking to The Sun, the source said: ‘Strictly have been banning the celebs and the pro’s from training if they’re ill in a bid to stop them from spreading it.
Shocking: Strictly Come Dancing producers fear a winter flu outbreak could potentially affect this years cast, after Adam Thomas became unwell and couldn’t make rehearsals
‘Naturally everyone on the show just wants to show up and carry on, but if they’re spreading their lurgy it could have a big knock on effect.
‘Strictly should be about sparkles and sequins – not snot.’
The actor, 35, has been juggling his role in the BBC hit school drama, Waterloo Road, alongside his training for Strictly, but it seems working non stop finally got the better of him.
Taking to Instagram earlier this week, the star shared a snap of himself looking slightly worse for wear as he lay in bed nursing his head.
He captioned the post: ‘Off all weeks to be poorly!’ with a sad emoji.
Adam has since returned to training but his spot on the show might be in jeopardy due missing so much practice.
This isn’t the first time Adam has had to miss training for the prime time dancing show.
At the end of last month, the dad-of-two revealed he missed a whole day of training due to his work commitments at Waterloo Road.

Family man: Adam who is married to his wife-of-six years Caroline, and has two children, a son Teddy and a daughter Elsie-Rose (pictured) described being away from home as ‘tough’
In the role that launched his career, the 35-year-old is currently back starring as Donte in the series alongside fellow co-stars Kym Marsh and Angela Griffin.
The show was rebooted last year after being axed back in 2015 and in September Adam shared a photo of Donte’s costume rail as he wrote: ‘Missing a days training today… but it’s all worth it. Work is work! Let’s go Donte!!!’
Aswell as juggling two jobs, the former Emmerdale star is also battling with with his rheumatoid arthritis, which he was diagnosed with in August and previously confessed on BBC Breakfast that rehearsals aren’t going as well as he hoped due to his joints condition.
Adam, who is married to his wife-of-six years Caroline, told the paper that being away from home is ‘tough’ and ‘the biggest emotional rollercoaster’.
He sweetly confessed that he constantly rings her to tell her how much he loved her.
On Saturday night Adam left his famous brothers Scott and Ryan in tears on when he performed his emotional waltz last weekend to I Wonder Why by Curtis Stigers.
His elegant waltz was met with rapturous applause from the audience and praise from the judges.
His twin brother and Love Island star Scott and Coronation Street actor Ryan were left in tears by his performance – as was Luba herself.
Afterwards Adam said: ‘Loved it. It’s like a movie out there.
‘This is the reason I wanted to do Strictly. I’m buzzing. Two years ago I didn’t really have a job but now I’ve got two!’
