Adriana Lima opts for a natural look as she returns to the red carpet in Munich – after causing a stir with her ‘unrecognisable’ appearance at The Hunger Games premiere

Adriana Lima returned to the red carpet on Monday evening, weeks after causing a stir with her last public appearance at a Los Angeles premiere.

The Brazilian model, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel, was forced to defend herself after fans claimed she looked unrecognisable at the LA launch of The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes in November.

But she was back on the red carpet and hoping for a better response from onlookers at the Mon Chéri Barbara charity gala in Munich.

The model, 42, toned down her make-up and opted for a more subdued appearance while attending the event, which helps raise money for children with disabilities as well as projects for medical assistance and disaster relief.

Wearing a caped evening gown for the annual event, Adriana commanded attention as she posed for photos after arriving ahead of the annual gala.

In November Adriana shocked fans while attending the Hunger Games premiere in Los Angeles.

While she is one of the most influential Victoria’s Secret Angels of all time, the appearance raised eyebrows due to the noticeable changes to her face over just the past month.

‘I would have had no idea that was the same person,’ one social media user wrote on X while others speculated that the Brazilian bombshell might be ‘still swollen’ from a cosmetic procedure, like a ‘facelift’ or ‘fillers.’

Another wrote: ‘OH NOOOOOO! What did she do to her face?! and WHY????? She was perfect before.’

Following online discussions about her appearance, the supermodel took to Instagram to break her silence over plastic surgery rumors.

‘This is the face of a tired mom of one teenage girl, two pre-teens, one active boy, a 1 year old learning to walk, and three dogs… thanks for your concern,’ she captioned a makeup-free selfie from her kitchen.

Many fans stuck up for the model as they called her ‘response to criticisms about her face’ being ‘the reality of a mother’s life, juggling the responsibilities of raising children and managing a household’ inspiring and relatable.

‘Her gratitude for the concern adds a touch of grace to her acknowledgment of the challenges she faces,’ one Twitter user said.

Her latest appearance at the Munich fundraiser was subdued in comparison to her bold look on The Hunger Games red carpet

Back in 2017, Adriana revealed that she wanted ‘people to look’ at her ‘beyond’ her ‘face/body.’

More recently, the model explained that motherhood changed ‘everything’ in her life as her beauty and self-care regimes have gone ‘out the window’ at times to focus on her children.

Still, she said: ‘But as my two daughters have gotten older, I’ve realized that they copy a lot of what I do and my habits, and it’s important for me to make sure they’re copying good ones.’

Additionally, she told Vogue India in 2020, that she allows them to ‘experiment with my make-up, masks and creams.’

‘I try to teach them to love the skin they’re in and eat healthily for their bodies and to also practise positive mental wellness through meditation,’ she told the outlet.
