Erika Jayne the 'incredible shrinking woman' shocks with weight loss

Erika Jayne the ‘incredible shrinking woman’ raises eyebrows with shock weight loss on RHOBH and castmate Dorit Kemsley admits she’s skeptical about Ozempic denial

  • Reality star, 52, clashed with castmates over how she lost weight, as she has continually denied using Ozempic
  • She said that she’s ‘on some really good hormones’
  • Erika this summer said she’s naturally thin, and had gained weight after years of struggles over her split from Tom Girardi and their legal issues

Erika Jayne again denied using the drug Ozempic for weight loss, in Wednesday’s edition of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, titled The Eaglewoman Has Landed.

The episode opened with Dorit Kemsley, 47, hosting a spiritual retreat in Malibu. Jayne, 52, arrived and everyone told her she looked so skinny, to which said it was ‘hormones.’

Dorit said in a confessional: ‘Oh, are hormones spelled OZEMPIC?’

A producer asked Erika if she was on Ozempic or Wegovy and she denied it.

‘No, I’m not, but I’m on some really good hormones,’ Erika said.

Slimmed down: Erika Jayne, 52, again denied using the drug Ozempic for weight loss, in Wednesday’s edition of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Dorit told Erika who she was very hurt by her comments at BravoCon saying she thought Dorit and Paul ‘PK’ Kemsey, 56, could be the next couple to break up.

Erika said she was just being a ‘showman,’ adding, ‘I walked right to the end of the stage and I gave those people what they wanted.’

Dorit said in response: ‘I kind of thought you were going to lead with an apology rather than defending it,’ to which Erika asked, ‘Dorit, is your marriage strong?’

Sutton Stracke, 52, said in a confessional: ‘The only thing that I’ve ever heard about PK and Dorit was the night PK got pulled over for a DUI; he may have or may not have had a woman in the car with him.’

Dorit said, ‘My marriage is very strong.’

Erika cried, apologizing to the group if she was vicious to them, but said that she was ‘getting hit from all sides.’

Kyle hugged her and said she was still upset that no one comforted her at the reunion when the stuff about Kathy Hilton came out.

‘I’m not a punching bag,’ Kyle said. ‘I didn’t feel like defending someone who has hurt me repeatedly.’

Skeptical: Dorit Kemsley, 47, cast her doubt on Erika’s claim that ‘hormones’ were the reason for her sudden weight loss

Questioned: A producer asked Erika if she was on Ozempic or Wegovy and she denied it

In August, Erika reiterated has again insisted that she never used Ozempic to get thin.

‘My answer stands then and it stands now,’ Erika said to Extra August 28, which meant she has not touched the weight loss drug, adding that she has always been slim.

‘I’ve always been tiny,’ said the star, who has been promoting her Las Vegas show. ‘I got bigger during all of my depression and through everything else.’

Erika’s depression came from her split from husband Tom Girardi and their massive financial scandal. (Girardi, 84, faces 20 years in prison after he was indicted for fraud.)

Now that she is done with Tom and working more than ever, the weight fell off, she explained.

‘There’s nothing like putting on a show and a little bit of stress… to get you right back into shape,’ she said of her Sin City show.

This past summer, she kicked off her Las Vegas residency show Bet It All on Blonde which is at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay through December 16.

Erika also talked about her struggles in recent years: ‘The last three years… have been really tough, and I pulled it together and here it is. I made lemonade out of lemons, man.’

Tears: Erika cried, apologizing to the group if she was vicious to them but that she was ‘getting hit from all sides’

Supported: Kyle hugged her and said she was still upset that no one comforted her at the reunion when the stuff about Kathy Hilton came out

Erika shared, ‘You have to look at struggles as either one of two things: you’re either going to meet it or you’re going to run away from it. And I chose to meet it head-on and walk through that fire, and it led me here.’

She added her Las Vegas residency at the House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino – titled Bet It All On Blonde – is about ‘fantasy, love, escape, glitz, glamor, and fun – nothing more.’

‘Last night was about a rebuild, a rebirth, and a return, truly, to the stage on my own terms,’ she said. ‘This is my show. It’s on my shoulders. It feels good. It’s heavy, but it feels good.’

In early August, Erika said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that menopause caused her to lose weight.

The reality star appeared slimmed down while appearing on the Bravo talk show wearing a black tank top, matching pants and tall boots.

‘Looking like a whisper of herself,’ host Andy, 55, said while introducing the cast member of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.

Andy later told Erika that she looked great and asked about her weight loss.

‘Yeah, I lost weight,’ Erika said. ‘Here’s what. Let me just start off by saying, you know, I want to make sure that I don’t trigger anybody because we have this conversation in Beverly Hills and we have a cast member with an eating disorder,’ referencing Crystal Kung Minkoff, 40, who has openly shared her struggles with bulimia nervosa and body dysmorphia.

‘But, yes, I did come down in weight and I did it hormonally,’ Erika said.

‘Not Ozempic-ally?,’ Andy asked referencing the drug Ozempic that is being used for weight loss.

‘I was going through menopause,’ Erika said. ‘So, I took it all down.’

‘Who loses weight in menopause?,’ cracked fellow guest comedian Jackie Hoffman, 62.

‘Me, I went to the doctor and I said get it off. Me,’ Erika said.

The US National Institute on Aging in its explanation of menopause notes that it affects each woman uniquely.

‘The body begins to use energy differently, fat cells change, and women may gain weight more easily,’ the NIA said on its website.

Ozempic has been a hot topic in Hollywood with stars either admitting using the diabetes drug for weight loss or staunchly denying it.

Semaglutide, is sold under the brand names Ozempic and Rybelsus as an antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and under the brand name Wegovy as an anti-obesity medication for long-term weight management.

The drugs act like a hormone in the brain that causes people to feel less hungry and slow the clearing of food from the stomach, which spurs weight loss.

Erika’s castmate on RHOBH Kyle Richards, 54, back in February slammed online speculation that she was secretly using Ozempic to lose weight.

Speaking to DailyMail.com about the ongoing rumors about her weight-loss, Kyle admitted that she found it frustrating to see her hard work dismissed as the result a ‘cheat drug’.

‘When people try to blame my appearance on surgery or Ozempic, which would be completely irresponsible to use when diabetics can’t get their hands on it, it’s really frustrating to me,’ Kyle explained.

She added: ‘It bothers me. I’d rather just inspire people with what I’m doing so they can try the same things I’ve been doing and see what happens to them.’

Working it: Kyle Richards of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, shown earlier this year on Instagram, has denied using Ozempic

Kyle also denied using Ozempic in January during an appearance on Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge’s show Two Ts In A Pod.

‘A lot of people think I’ve been taking Ozempic. To clarify I’ve never taken Ozempic,’ Kyle said referencing the diabetes drug.

Kyle at the time also noted that she wasn’t using Mounjaro either, a similar diabetes medication being used for weight loss, or ‘any of the shots’ such as Wegovy or Saxenda.
