George Clooney is 'selling Lake Como Villa' he's owned for 21 years
George Clooney is ‘selling his famous $100M Lake Como Villa’ that he has owned for more than two decades
George Clooney is reportedly saying goodbye to his Lake Como home after owning it for 21 years.
The 62-year-old actor has listed the villa with a Milan, Italy agency, according to Italian magazine Oggie.
Past reports falsely claimed the Hollywood icon was selling the home, but real estate agent Yasemin Baysal assured the publication that ‘this time it’s true,’ People reported.
An Italian source also told the outlet that news of the sale is legitimate.
The price of the lakeside property is estimated to be as high as $100 million.

The person close to the situation noted, ‘It must be said that over and above being a very good actor and investor, he’s also an extremely shrewd investor, given that he bought the villa for 10 million euros.’
Clooney is said to have purchased the home — named Villa Oleandra — from the Heinz family in 2002, via The Washington Post.
It was also reported that the filmmaker’s presence on Lake Como set off a real estate boom, prompting prices of properties in the area to double.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Clooney went on to acquire a nearby home, making it ‘one of the largest private homes in the area.’
The home, which boasts 25 rooms, was estimated at over $100 million in 2022, WSJ added.
Lake Como has sentimental value to the Hollywood heartthrob as he met his now-wife Amal Clooney there in 2013 when she came over for a dinner party with mutual friends.
In a September 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor recalled, ‘I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart.’
And last month the couple was back in Italy as they traveled to Venice for the famous film festival.

The storied home has seen its share of entertainment industry A-listers.
In 2004, the cast of Ocean’s Twelve was treated to a visit at the villa, People noted.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski tied the knot there in 2010, with Krasinski dishing to Elle six years later how it came to be.
The Boston-born actor revealed that George offered the home to the couple multiple times.
‘Only on the fourth ask did I say yes. Because the first three times I thought, there’s no way he is serious,’ he explained.
2018 saw Jennifer Aniston briefly make the space her home while she worked on the comedy film Murder Mystery.
And Clooney was there to support the area two years ago when it was battered by heavy rain and landslides during the summer season.
After assessing the damage, George said in a video shared online, ‘It’s much worse than I thought. I have spoken to the mayor — there will be a lot of work, it will take millions of dollars, but this city is strong. It will react and return better than before. This is a very resilient city.’

Mayor Roberto Pozzi told the Sunday Times that Clooney ‘came straight to the town hall to see what had happened and we took a tour of the damage.’
Back in 2019, George raised funds with Omaze via a contest in which a couple could meet him and Amal at the villa.
Donations went to the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and winners were treated to lunch with George and Amal, round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations.
In addition to the Lake Como house, the Clooneys — who share 6-year-old twins Ella and Alexander — have places in France, the United Kingdom, and Los Angeles.
