I’m A Celebrity is embroiled in a misogyny row as furious viewers slam Fred Sirieix for ignoring Danielle Harold and scolding female campmates over washing up

It’s been at the centre of Brexit, race and immigration debates between divisive characters such as Nella Rose and Nigel Farage as they argue over issues including cultural appropriation.

And as tensions continue to rise in the camp, I’m a Celebrity faces fresh accusations of misogyny after the EastEnders actress, Danielle Harold, was ignored by her three male co-stars during a BushTucker trial.

It comes as Josie Gibson and Nella Rose are tasked with washing up the pots after Fred Sirieix, 51, cooks and ‘takes charge’ around the campfire.

During Thursday night’s Bushtucker Trial, Barbaric Barbershop, the JLS star Marvin Humes, champion jockey Frankie Dettori and Fred Sirieix struggled to complete the task of fitting two halves of their stars together.

Down the line of chairs Danielle Harold, 31, sat one seat away from them and shouted to be included because Josie Gibson dropped out.

When the five celebrities returned it was relayed to the other campmates that the girls ‘struggled’, with viewers branding the comment ‘sexist’

She said: ‘Guys, please can I have some bits, the more I ask the angrier these rats get.’

Fans were quick to spot this and wrote on the platform TikTok: ‘I felt really bad for Danielle they weren’t listening to her. If they passed to her they would have got more.’

When the five celebrities returned it was relayed to the other campmates that the girls ‘struggled’ after Josie Gibson had to pull out due to her fear of spiders.

But this enraged viewers and one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: ‘Do not put Danielle down as the ”Girls struggled”. Fred, you could have said not Danielle – she actually rescued you all by coming up with the idea that one person puts all the stars together.’

Another person wrote: ‘Did Nigel just assume that the girls struggled? Sexist!’

Meanwhile, two out of the three female campmates Nella Rose and Josie Gibson have been paired to clean the pots after Fred Sirieix does the cooking which has caused tensions between them.

The First Dates Maitre’d threw the clean pots on the ground after he declared they were dirty and blamed their lack of thoroughness for him mistaking a stock cube for food and throwing it on the fire.

Made in Chelsea’s Sam Thompson, the favourite to win this year’s show then stepped in and said: ‘We need to keep the peace between the washer uppers and Fred.

‘Nick you are also helping the ladies carrying the washing up down there… but you can’t do the washing up.

‘You can carry it down and bring it up.’

While the Hollyoaks actor was employed to do the heavy lifting for the two women, Danielle Harold was asked to assist Mr Sirieix in the kitchen.

Nigel Farage, 59, was pleased and commented: ‘Danielle is fantastic, she just gets on with things.’
