He got a hattrick against Forest last season and is already on his way to another as Haaland doubles City’s lead with his eighth goal of the season. It’s another beautiful move capped off by the Norwegian rising highest in the box to smash a header past Turner.

Luton rattle the woodwork (0-0)

Luton need points today and are going the right way about it after making a brilliant start against Wolves. Chances have been coming for the hosts as Morris looks to bend an effort in but watches it smash against the bar.

Fulham dominating at Selhurst Park (0-0)

The visitors are having it all their own way in the London derby as Fulham begin to move through the gears with Willian going close in the early exchanges.

It did take long at the Eithad and City are in front through a wonderfully worked team goal. Walker smashes a volleyed cross into Foden who side-foots the ball into the back of the net and we have our first goal of the afternoon.

Haaland hauled down on the edge of the Forest box (0-0)

It was a long afternoon for Forest the last time they travelled to the Etihad with Erling Haaland netting a hattrick and he has started strongly here today.

Alvarez is quick with his footwork before putting a ball into Haaland who is brought down. Alvarez takes the resulting free-kick but his effort is saved.

Luton start strong against Wolves (0-0)

Luton need a win and have started strongly as Carlton Morris wins a free-kick inside the Wolves half. You feel their most likely chance will come from a set-piece today.

Forest looking to chop down the champions

Steve Cooper’s side narrowly escaped relegation last season but have been one of the surprise packages during the opening weeks of the Premier League and have started strong taking seven league points.

Forest travel to the Etihad knowing that leaving with a defeat is the most likely option but they went close with 10-men on their last visit to Manchester against the red half of the city recently.

Top scorer Taiwo Awoniyi will be the dangerman for the visitors but they also have some serious firepower on the bench with Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson -Odoi scoring in recent Premier League outings.

Roy Hodgson took training midweek and is back in the dugout for today’s London derby against Fulham.

The 76-year-old missed last weekend’s defeat against Aston Villa after being taken ill following breakfast but returns today after making a full recovery.

Crystal Palace and Fulham are all square in the Premier League standings on seven points and we can expect an enthralling derby clash between two sides who will believe they can get a result today.

Can Luton finally get their first Premier League points?

It was always going to be hard for Luton after they won promotion to the Premier League and struggled to match the summer spending of other top-flight sides, but they have perhaps found it even more difficult than expected.

Luton have played four, lost four, and are desperate to get off the mark or else they could be destined to break the unwanted record of the earliest ever Premier League relegation.

Today represents arguably their best chance yet to kickstart their season at Kenilworth Road with Wolves reeling from a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool last time out and manager Rob Edwards making two changes.

The home crowd will be behind them in their first 3pm kick-off and Luton have to start making inroads today.

Jack Grealish returns for Man City

City have still thrived in his absence but Jack Grealish being back fit is a huge boost to Guardiola and his treble-winners.

The England international last featured in a 2-1 win over Sheffield United at the end of August before suffering a hamstring injury that has kept him out ever since.

Grealish is on the bench for today’s clash against Forest but expect him to come on at some stage.

Matheus Nunes makes first Premier League start for Man City

The big team news for Man City is that Matheus Nunes will be making his first Premier League start for the club.

Nunes made a £53m switch from Wolves during the summer and has gradually been eased into the City team. Today against Forest he makes his first league start for the reignining champions.

Three matches to focus on at 3pm

It’s a rather short list of 3pm games to follow today but we have some great games to look forward to.

Manchester City host Nottingham Forest in a match where both teams have enjoyed strong starts to the new season. Pep Guardiola’s side remain the only team with a 100 per cent winning start to the new season, while Forest are only five points off the top four.

Fulham travel across the capital for a London derby against Crystal Palace as Roy Hodgson returns to the dugout after missing last weekend’s defeat against Aston Villa due to illness.

And Luton have a great chance to get their seaosn up and running against Wolves who were well-beaten by Liverpool last time out.

Premier League table: As it stands

Today marks the start of the Premier League’s matchday six and it’s been a chaotic start to the new season to say the least.

Manchester City will maintain their stay at the top of the table regardless of if they win today but will be overtaken if they lose and Arsenal or Spurs win tomorrow’s North London derby.

Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest are also tightly bunched together while Wolves want to distance themselves from the relegation zone and Luton head into today still seeking their first win in the top-flight.
