Escort worked in school to shape children’s sex education as double life exposed

A teacher who played a leading role in designing a school district’s sex education curriculum has been revealed to allegedly be an escort.

Ashley Ketcherside, who has gone by Lola Brea for her escort services, has convictions for prostitution on her rap sheet. She had been working at Godley Independent Schools District in Texas, but according to local news channels is thought to have been active as an escort as recently as October.

An investigation by FOX 4 claims to have found that Ketcherside was still advertising as an escort. She has now been removed from multiple roles across the school district.

It noted that among those, she had been serving on a council that had been recommending, “appropriate grade levels and methods for human sexuality instruction within Godley ISD."

It also noted that she appeared in a video on YouTube posted by Godley ISD in front of students and is listed as a committee member in meeting minutes. Being a member requires an appointment to the school board.

She was on the Long Range Facility Planning Committee, a volunteer on the Family and Community Engagement Committee, Parent Teacher Organization and Godley Athletic Booster Club.

Godley ISD School Board trustee Kayla Lain told the station: “We had no idea what was going on in her personal life. She was always very friendly and personable.”

She added: “I would not want children to be subject to those type of people.”

Lain told the station: “We don’t know what kind of clients she comes into contact with or who she works for."

Escort services are not illegal in Texas, although prostitution is, something Ketcherside was found guilty of in 2012 and 2016 according to documents obtained by FOX 4. An affidavit noted that she is "also known as Lola Brea."

Mary Lowe with the nonprofit group Families Engaged for Effective Education told the channel: “I don’t see any community wanting that to be the standard for their school district” and added: "We can do better, and we must do better."

In a statement, Godley ISD told FOX 4 that background check were required for Ketecherside's positions and added: “Obviously, the district would not knowingly allow anyone to work in a staff position or to volunteer with certain criminal convictions in their background."

The Godley Police Department told FOX 4 it is "generally aware of the allegations; however, there is no official criminal investigation at this time based on the allegations alone."
