A global search is ongoing for the wife of a 7/7 bomber, who has been accused of causing the deaths of over 400 people.

Known as the ‘White Widow’, Samantha Lewthwaite, 39, is at the top of Interpol’s red list as worldwide fugitive. Lewthwaite, one of the most wanted people in the world, is the ex-wife of Germaine Lindsay – one of the suicide bombers involved in the 2005 London terror attacks, which left 56 people dead and 784 wounded.

In 2012, Kenyan police issued an arrest warrant for a woman who used the fake name Natalie Faye Webb with a fake South African passport, reports YorkshireLive. It eventually came to light that this was Lewthwaite herself, after Kenyan officials consulted with police in the UK.

The 39-year-old mum-of-four fled the UK and was wanted in connection with an Al-Shabaab terror cell plan for attacks across Kenya. Lewthwaite was also one of the suspects involved in an attack at a bar in Mombasa, Kenya, as well as being linked to a Nairobi shopping mall attack which killed 71 people.

After more than 10 years on the run, Lewthwaite is still being hunted by Interpol. The Interpol Red Notice lists her as being wanted for conspiracy to commit a felony and being in possession of explosives.

Lewthwaite was born in County Down, Northern Ireland, and by the age of 17 had converted to Islam. When her parents divorced soon after, it was reported by Yorkshire Live to have greatly affected her.

Although little is known of her current whereabouts, the wanted notice for Lewthwaite remains up and police are encouraging people to come forward with information.
